The Big Bank Switch

The UK’s big banks are making financing decisions that are causing harm to nature and fuelling the climate crisis.
Move away from a bank that funds fossil fuels to one that helps shape a greener future for God’s creation.
Make your Big Bank Switch Pledge! Explore greener options and start your switch today.
*Why are we asking you to make a pledge? There is power in numbers. Your individual pledge will be counted as part of our collective call for change and you can then make the switch at a time convenient for you.

The Big Bank Switch is coordinated by JustMoney Movement, Operation Noah and Just Love in partnership with Switch It Green.
Make your Big Bank Switch Pledge
By making a pledge to switch to a greener bank, you are joining with thousands of Christians taking action to care for God’s creation through the Big Bank Switch. You can also use this form to tell us that you already bank with a greener bank.
Make your switch
Choose a bank that doesn’t finance fossil fuels. Which? identifies the three banks below as the greenest after examining the environmental policies of 13 of the UK’s leading current account providers.
Nationwide doesn’t invest in, or lend to, the fossil fuel industry. As a building society, it is owned by its members, not shareholders.
Triodos Bank does not fund fossil fuels and actively lends for positive environmental impact. The bank is is a member of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV).
The Co-operative Bank has a strong Ethical Policy which includes not financing the exploration, extraction or production of fossil fuels.
Disclaimer: The Big Bank Switch campaign aims to help Christians explore climate action with their finances through their banking choices. It does not, however, involve the provision of financial advice. If you wish to receive advice, please consult a qualified and independent financial advisor.

I have a deep concern for our global and local community because of my faith, and so could no longer use a bank which didn’t also respect this, or caused intentional harm to others.
