Church Action for Tax Justice (CATJ) is delighted to announce that Sue Richardson has been appointed as the new Chair of the CATJ committee, taking over from Rev David Haslam who founded CATJ in 2018.

Sue is recently retired but has worked for the last 35 years for Christian Aid. Most recently, she was their theological adviser with a particular focus on working with those in training for both lay and ordained ministerial roles.

She is Roman Catholic, introduced to Liberation Theology in the 1980s and heavily influenced by Latin American approaches to Bible reading and community theologising. She has spent both her working life and her free time in the voluntary sector, serving as a local councillor, setting up local environmental action groups and serving as a Citizen Advice Bureau adviser and trustee.

She is married and lives in Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire with six grandchildren within babysitting distance!
