ECCR and Church Action for Tax Justice (CATJ) are delighted to announce that CATJ has joined, more formally, the ECCR family, through integration as a programme under the ECCR umbrella.

ECCR has been involved with CATJ from the beginning, as a partner organisation, providing both funding and administrative support. Both ECCR and CATJ deeply believe that tax justice is key to helping correct the imbalances within society and is a core part of ECCR’s strategy to see a fairer and more sustainable world. In particular, both organisations are dedicated to bringing this message to the church, encouraging Christians and the UK Church to be a leading voice in the fight for tax justice.

We are excited what this closer alignment means for both ECCR and CATJ. Dr Justin Thacker will continue to ably lead CATJ as Programme Director, and CATJ will continue its fantastic work, with the benefits of being part of a registered charity, improving its ability to fundraise and grow this work.

CATJ’s other partners (including Christian Aid, Fair Tax Mark, Quakers in Britain, Christians on the Left, the Joint Public Issues Team, London Methodist District and the Centre of Research for Catholic Education) will remain involved and continue to provide their expertise and support to the programme for which we are very grateful.

For ECCR, closer alignment with CATJ, will help to strengthen its work and effectively contribute to the delivery of its mission and strategy.

There are clear synergies between the two organisations and by joining forces, we believe we will be stronger together, better able to be a louder and more effective voice for change.
