On Wednesday evening, 28 October 2020, as part of Restoring Hope 2020, we hosted an Evening in Conversation with Ruth and Rowan in collaboration with JustShare.
In the 90 minute event, we were joined by Dr Rowan Williams, former Archbishop of Canterbury and Dr Ruth Valerio, Tearfund’s Global Director of Advocacy and Influencing, each of whom spoke on the topic of faith and finance, with responses provided by Dr Justin Thacker (Director of Church Action for Tax Justice) and Rosie Venner (Money Makes Change Programme Manager).
We were joined by over 130 people, with the evening chaired by Janie Oliver, ECCR Executive Director, who facilitated a fascinating time of questions and answers with our panellists.
At the end of the session, 93% of attendees said they wanted their local church to teach more often on issues of finance and consumerism.
