2025 has been an eventful, busy and exciting year for us at JustMoney, with campaigns, demonstrations, events, and new people joining our team. We’ve picked just one (or two) highlights from each month of 2025 to share with you as we round-up this year.
Thank you all for being a part of this movement, and for all that you have done this year to speak up for the change that is needed to shape a fairer, greener world for everyone.
January
We kicked off the year with a well-attended training session on bank campaigning for JustMoney Champions, looking at how we can advocate for a fairer, greener banking sector.
February
George, our Movement Builder with Black Majority Churches, attended the New Testament Church of God Leadership Summit in Birmingham, strengthening relationships there and promoting the series of webinars on faith and finance that he runs for church leaders.
March
In a Channel 4 documentary, actor and debt campaigner Michael Sheen backed calls for a new Fair Banking Act to help tackle the crisis of unaffordable credit and problem debt, and we supported hundreds of you to write to your MP on the topic.
April
We finalised our preparations to attend HSBC’s AGM in May to hold the bank to account on their continued financing of fossil fuels. This included connecting with campaigners in the Philippines who are speaking up for communities affected by the impact of banks’ financing decisions.
May
At the end of May, the Bank Well campaign launched with Just Love!
Matt, our Movement Builder, worked with a team of Just Love volunteers to get Bank Well up and running, to support a movement of churches switching to greener banks.
June
In June we marked Fair Tax Week and Tax Justice Sunday.
This year, we were involved in a stunt outside parliament with many of our tax justice allies, calling for fairer taxation on wealth ahead of the Comprehensive Spending Review.
We also ran an Introduction to Tax Justice webinar with some expert speakers, and Sarah led worship on Tax Justice Sunday in Barnet, helping people make connections between our Christian faith, justice and fairer taxation.
July
In July, Rosie led a workshop on greener finances at the Quaker Life Trustee and Treasurer Conference and enjoyed connecting with lots of people from local and Area meetings who are taking action to align their finances with their values.
August
We had a blast at Greenbelt Festival in Northamptonshire, speaking to hundreds of people at our stall. We were also pleased to support a panel on greener pensions with our friends at Finance Innovation Lab, SCM and CCLA.
September
We took part in the Make Them Pay demonstration in London, calling for greater taxation on extreme wealth, a just transition for all, and a tax on polluters to make them pay for their damage.
October
In October, we celebrated Good Money Week and Good Money Sunday!
We hosted a webinar with Eco Church exploring how churches can green their finances, and another event with Ethex, Energise Africa and Community Energy England, looking at how we can use our money to invest in positive change.
Sarah enjoyed being a guest for this week’s episode of JPIT’s Politics in the Pulpit podcast.
November
In November, Rosie and Annie travelled to Derby to join JPIT for their annual conference, and Matt attended the Just Love Conference in London, talking with lots of young adults about acting justly with money, and sharing about the Bank Well campaign.
Ahead of the Government’s Autumn Budget, we coordinated a joint interfaith statement calling for bold tax reforms to rebuild the country.
December
In December we were pleased to see progress towards greener pensions, with MPs debating amendments around the phase out of fossil fuel investments from UK pensions, thanks to the emails that you sent on the Pension Schemes Bill.
